Our eyes express emotion more than any other feature of the face. If your eyes look bright and alert, you’re perceived as energized, happy, youthful, and well-rested. If your eyes are puffy or have sagging skin drooping over your upper eyelids, people may comment that you look tired or not well.

What Happens During an Eye Lift?

Dr. Robinson is a board certified Plastic Surgeon in Columbus, Ohio who has performed numerous upper eye lifts in his cosmetic surgery practice, assuring that your eyes will match properly.

He will first examine your eyes thoroughly to check for any conditions that might mean you are not a good candidate for eyelid surgery.

If cosmetic eyelid surgery is performed, it is done on an outpatient basis in a fully accredited facility with a board certified Anesthesiologist present to ensure your comfort. The procedure generally takes only one to two hours.

Your cosmetic eye surgery involves removing any sagging skin or extra fat from the upper eyelids using a tiny incision in the crease of the upper lid. In this way, the scar is never visible. If necessary, the eyebrows can be repositioned and arched or reshaped slightly to complement your new look even more.

Upper Blepharoplasty Recovery

Recovery time is fast with upper eyelid surgery. Puffiness and bruising is to be expected to some degree, however. You can cover any discoloration with mineral makeup, and you should be able to return to work within two weeks at the most. If you experience any soreness, you can take pain medications during your healing process.

While no surgery stops the aging process, the results of upper blepharoplasty are long lasting. The results can be seen for as long as ten years.

You will also see blepharoplasty before and after photos of others who have had the surgery. Dr. Robinson will then take pictures of you to serve as your “before pictures”.
